ABOUT THE BLOG

This project is linked to my CCSP or Cardinal Career Summer Program from MCPHS University. Through this program, students were asked to choose a topic to base their project on, whether it be virtual volunteering, research or a Coursera class. Linked to a CPCD (Center for Professional Career Development) advisor, students were given the opportunity to complete weekly assignments to further their career readiness. Some assignments included submission of a cover letter/resume, weekly discussion boards and a mock interview.

I chose to sew handmade face masks for my project because of my mother. In the mandated quarantine time while she was off of work, she must've sewed and donated at least 200+ masks for hospitals/family members/friends. Even though I didn't even know how to sew using a machine yet, her selfless efforts motivated me to learn. In the end, I actually ended up adopting sewing as one of my favorite hobbies.

Currently, I am actually fundraising for Black Lives Matter by selling handmade scrunchies! At this time, the instagram page has raised and donated over $700. For more information, please feel free to check out my instagram page or shop, instagram.com/luckypeaxh or luckypeaxh.square.site
